HEALTH HAZARD DATA

KNOWN HAZARDS: Can cause dizziness and irritation. Possible sensitizer in rare cases.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE: EYES - can cause irritation. SKIN - Prolonged and repeated contact can cause irritation. INHALATION - No effects are expected under normal conditions of use. INGESTION - Effects of ingestion have not been determined; no effects anticipated. Not considered to be a potential route of exposure.

PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: Inhalation.

CARCINOGENICITY: IARC classifies crystalline silica as a Gp IIA carcinogen based upon inhalation of respirable dust. This product does not pose a dust hazard; therefore, this classification is not relevant / applicable.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Eye, skin, and respiratory conditions.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES

EYES: Flush with plenty of water. Call a physician.

SKIN: Wash with soap and water.

INHALATION: Move victim to fresh air. Call a physician if symptoms persist.

INGESTION: Seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to by a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

OTHER: Referral to a physician is recommended if there is any question about the seriousness of the injury/exposure.

CONTROL MEASURES AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

VENTILATION: General (i.e., natural or mechanically induced fresh air movements that maintain vapor concentrations below recommended exposure limits).

EYE PROTECTION: Not required, however, safety glasses should be worn in most industrial settings.

SKIN PROTECTION: Cloth or impervious gloves recommended.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: None normally required. Where ventilation is inadequate to control vapors or if discomfort occurs, use a NIOSH-approved respirator for organic vapors. . Never enter a confined space without an appropriate air supplied respirator.

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE

HANDLING AND STORING PRECAUTIONS: Store in a cool, dry area. Keep from freezing. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact. Use with adequate ventilation. Always wash thoroughly after handling chemical products.

SPILL PROCEDURES: Wipe up spilled material with a cloth and place in a container for proper disposal. Not considered a hazardous waste according to EPA definitions.
